Casa Oasis is a legally licensed guest house situated in the village of Los Rios, just next to Almedinilla, and near to Priego de Cordoba.

The village is famous for its May and August fiestas, where people come to enjoy the paella, music and dancing.  It is a quiet village with a local bar, and most of the people who live in the village have lived here all of their lives and are extremely friendly and helpful.

Upstairs, the house has two letting rooms, a central hallway and private terraces overlooking the garden.   One room has a double bed and the other has 2 single beds.  Both rooms have tea and coffee facilities, bathrobes and pool towels. They each have a large bathroom; one with a wet room and the other with a fitted shower, toilet, wash hand basins and ceiling fans.  The hallway offers wi-fi and a library of travel books and guides.  Access to the garden is via a spiral staircase.  This floor could be converted into a self contained apartment if required.  There is also a mezzanine room halfway up the staircase which could be transformed into a 3rd letting room with en-suite shower and toilet.

Downstairs is the owner’s accommodation which has two bedrooms, lounge, kitchen and bathroom with a large bath.  Double doors open out from the kitchen onto the garden. The kitchen is particularly large with high ceilings, a fitted central island for dining.  There is a typical Spanish wash house which houses the washing machine, tumble dryer and space for storage.

The whole house has been completely transformed with new electrics, plumbing, new roof, new terrace, pool and fencing.  It is painted in an Andalucian style.

The garden has a paved area which provides a terrace at the back of the house and runs around the lawn and leads to the 7mx4m pool.

A fence screens off a part of the garden which is used for chickens, vegetables and anything else you would wish to grow.  This plot of land has a walnut tree along with peach, quince, apple and pear trees.

Overall, there is about 800m2 of land.

Here is what the owners, Mike and Jan Templeton, say about the business:

We have just finished our 5th season here and from the day we opened, we have been very busy. This is a fantastic community to live in and we are only selling for personal, unavoidable reasons, otherwise we would stay. We have rave reviews on Trip Advisor and any potential purchaser can read the comments here.

We have various peak periods in the summer, Easter and during Spanish fiestas. Many of our clients stay for around 3 or 4 nights to visit the cities, towns, the typical white villages and just relax at the pool. All on line rental booking history can be made available to any serious purchaser to show the level of enquiries we have and the number of bookings. We cannot provide evidence of the telephone bookings but they make up around 30% of the total. Our turnover from March to October each year is around 18,000 euros. We could also open in the winter for ski-ing bookings at the Sierra Nevada, people who come to local weddings, house hunters, and travellers, but we choose not to.

It is very cheap to live in Spain and the income we make through the summer enables us not to work in the winter. Our advertising budget is about 400 euros a year and our monthly income could be up to 2000 euros a month. Our utility bills in total add up to about 100 euros a month and that includes electric, water, gas, internet, telephone and council tax.

We have just upgraded the house last winter by re-tiling the pool, painting the house, putting in two new boilers, renovating more areas, creating more storage space, and generally improving the property. The sale price does not reflect how much we have spent on the house which is substantially more.

If you are interested in this property, please contact Mike and Jan direct, mentioning that you saw their ad on my site:
